You may be wondering what’s new at The Rider. Well, this whole online presence is new, with online subscribing, story highlights, advertiser’s information and more. The online layout will be different compared to our original. Don’t worry though, the original paper publication will remain the same. At The Rider, we work hard to bring you the quality information you deserve.  We plan on doing the same with this website. That means it will evolve into your portal to the Equine Industry in Ontario.
Just as we are “Ontario’s Horse Industry Newspaper,” we have broadened our horizons to benefit you, our readers and advertisers. We thank you in advance for your encouragement and patience as we embark on this new journey into cyberspace!
We have worked very hard to make The Rider a part of the culture of the horse world. As the horse industry has grown and expanded, so have we. We are very excited that by going online, we will improve our services to both our readers and our
advertising clientele.  This site is just in the beginning stages. Please bear with us as we continue to develop and expand. Thank you!

The Rider is Online...
The Rider has a long history. It began over 35 years ago as The Canadian Western Rider, the first western discipline horse publication in Canada. In 1994 we merged with our other publications, The Canadian Quarter Horse Journal and The English Rider. The Rider has special English, Western, Quarter Horse and general sections, many interesting columns, a comprehensive coming events section, stable, stallion, and service directories and classifieds. The Rider covers all English disciplines, including Dressage, Hunter/Jumpers,

Driving, Endurance, and breeds such as Sport Horses, Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods and Heavy Horses. All aspects of the Western Horse Industry are covered as well, such as

Reining, Barrel Racing, Team Penning and Western Pleasure, and breeds such as Quarter Horses, Paints, and Appaloosas. Light breeds such as Morgans, Arabians and Saddlebreds are also covered. A number of prominent associations have chosen The Rider as their official newsletter. Some of which have been with us for more than three decades! (For a full list of our member associations follow this link.) Our current readership is in excess of 20,000 and we are the proud winners of the 2004 through 2007 OEF Media of the Year Award.
