About The Rider
The Rider is a six time recipient of the Ontario Equestrian Federation Media of the Year award. The equestrian newspaper has been published for 49 years.
49 Years as Ontario's premiere horse newspaper.
The Rider began 49 years ago as The Canadian Western Rider, the first western discipline horse publication in Canada. In 1994 we merged with our other publications, The Canadian Quarter Horse Journal which began in 1972 and The English Rider, which we launched in 1990.
The Rider has special English, Western, Quarter Horse and general sections. We have many columns written by industry leaders, a comprehensive coming events section, stable, stallion, and service directories, real estate ads and classifieds. The Rider covers all English and Western disciplines. We also cover Quarter Horse Racing, Driving and various other breeds and disciplines. The Rider is distributed through subscription, through the memberships of our 11 official association partners and through almost 300 tack and feed stores.
