The Triple Crown Draft Classic Coming This Fall

The Triple Crown Draft Classic is set to become the greatest draft horse show to come to Ontario. Taking place October 28-30th at the Ancaster Fairgrounds, the show with feature the triple crown of the draft horse breeds; Belgians, Clydesdales/Shires, and Percherons. Get set to hear the rumbling of the one-ton horses as they compete in patent leather and chrome for champion titles. A full weekend of fun and excitement for the whole family to enjoy.

Over the course of the weekend, exhibitors will compete in hitch classes throughout the afternoons at the Triple Crown Draft Classic (TCDC). From a single cart horse to a 6-horse hitch, these magnificent animals, are heart stopping as they strut their stuff around the ring in front of judges competing for the champion title. The TCDC is thrilled to be a North American Classic Series qualifying show. Staring the Classic Series Six-Horse Hitch, Classic Series Cart, and Classic Series Youth Cart, these classes will include North America’s best competing for points for the North American Finals to be held in 2023.

On Saturday morning the TCDC will feature a halter show. Draft horse exhibitors will display their top athletes in breeding classes divided by age. They will be competing for Supreme Titles of their breeds followed by Best Horse on the Grounds; this is a show dedicated to supporting and honoring the prestige breeders of the industry. Join fans in the stands as they cheer on these prestige animals and crown them champions.

Not to be missed at the show is the one-of-a-kind event which all the kids will be waiting for, the charity cart class featuring “Villains and Superheroes”. Numerous carts will be hooked to one of the gentle giants and dressed in costume in honor of the McMaster Childrens Hospital. Proceeds from this class will be donated to the hospital.

In addition, the TCDC is excited to be chosen as the location for two spectacular final celebrations: The Ontario Four Horse Hitch Classic Series Finals (Scheduled Saturday PM) and The Canadian Draft Horse Futurity (Scheduled Friday AM). The mission of both organizations is to promote and develop the draft breeds across Canada.

Create an account and once logged in > select continue > select not an exhibitor but want to buy, reserve, or rent items > from there you can purchase your weekend passes or tickets to the Banquet of Champions dinner on the Saturday evening. Depending on seating availability the TCDC will have passes available at the gates. To ensure you have a spot along the boards to watch these mighty animals compete be sure to purchase your tickets ahead of time.
