The suspension of EC sanctioned competition due to COVID-19 has directly impacted the Jumping Levy Program, which funds the Initiative.

Ottawa, ON, April 20, 2020 – The Jump Cup Initiative has been suspended until further notice due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Initiative was announced in December 2019 to support EC sanctioned hunter/jumper competitions in complying with a new rule requiring safety cups with breakaway track systems in all competition and warm-up rings. It provides reimbursements of up to $3,000 CAD per competition venue for the purchase of FEI approved jump cups and breakaway track systems.

The suspension of EC sanctioned competition due to COVID-19 has directly impacted the Jumping Levy Program, which funds the Initiative. Those who have already submitted invoices for the 2020 Initiative will still receive reimbursement through previously allocated funds.

The EC Jumping Committee will continue to monitor the status of the COVID-19 pandemic and hopes to resume the Initiative in 2021.
