June 26, 2026 - Ottawa, ON -- Canadian eventing athlete Kyle Morton and his longtime partner Shannondale Gambit have been selected to represent Canada at the inaugural FEI Eventing U25 World Championships, taking place in Millstreet, Ireland, from July 22-26, 2026.
The championship marks a significant milestone for both Morton and Canadian Eventing High Performance, showcasing the next generation of international eventing talent competing at the highest levels of the sport.
Morton, originally from Hampton, ON, and now based in northern Germany, is a member of the National Team Program U25 Development Squad and will be making his first appearance representing Canada at a World Championship. They will compete against some of the world's top young eventing athletes at the CCI4*-S level.

"We're thrilled to see Kyle and Gambit representing Canada at these championships," said Emily Gilbert, Chair of Equestrian Canada’s Eventing High Performance. "Kyle's selection is a testament to the dedication and talent he has demonstrated through the National Team Program. Having an increasing number of U25 athletes successfully competing at the CCI4* level is an exciting step forward for Canadian Eventing."
For Morton, the opportunity represents years of hard work and the support of a committed team behind him and his horse.
"I am excited and thankful to have been selected to represent Canada at the inaugural U25 World Championships in Ireland this year," said Morton. "This will be my first time representing my country on the world stage, and I couldn't ask for a better partner than my horse, Shannondale Gambit. I hope to do Canada, my friends and family, and most of all Gambit proud."
Morton credited the team that has helped him and Gambit reach this milestone, including the invaluable support of those behind his success: Coaches Andreas Dibowski and Antonia Palma e Santos, owners Ian and Marni Morton, his fiancée and partner Cecilia Lundberg, and stable caretaker Jordi Cànoves Ortega along with the Canadian Team Technical Advisor and Chef D’Equipe, Rebecca Howard.
The FEI Eventing U25 World Championships provide a valuable international opportunity for emerging athletes and serve as an important stepping stone toward future senior championship teams. Canada's participation in this inaugural edition highlights the continued growth and strength of the country's eventing development pathway.
