2026 Offering at The Great Lakes Carriage Classic

A Driven Dressage Clinic - Open to All!



With assistance from The HOOPES Addis Education Trust, a Driven Dressage Clinic will be held July 23, 2026 as part of the 8th Great Lakes Carriage Classic (GLCC). The Agricultural Event Centre at Ancaster Fairgrounds, 630 Trinity Road South, Jerseyville, ON will open to competitors at 10:00 am July 23rd to allow a move-in period for equines and equipment prior to 1:00 pm clinic start  time.

Titled: Learn How to Improve Your Driven Dressage Score this clinic is applicable to all interested in the sport of carriage driving and both competitors and non competitors are welcome. The Clinician Shelly Temple will serve as CDE Judge for the show  and is one of the greats in the sport. 

Her credentials include;
• US National Driving Champion 3 times
• US Team Member in 2 World Pony Driving Championships with 2 Bronze Team Medals and Silver &  Bronze Medals in Dressage
• ADS Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals in Driven Dressage 
• ADS, USEF and FEI Level Judge 
• Member of USEF Driving Sport Committee and Sponsor of the ADS Centennial Club 

The Clinic will be divided into two sections and  each session will receive didactic teaching, walking of applicable dressage tests with Shelly and a Question & Answer period. The first session, 1:00 to 3:00 pm will focus on Training and Preliminary Level Tests, the second session, 3:00 to 4:30 pm on Intermediate and Advanced Level Tests. The 2026  GLCC will be using ADS 2020 Level B 80 metre tests except for 4’s that will use Level A and the Advanced Tests. 

Clinic is only $25 and participants may attend one or both sessions. Registration is available on the show website www.thegreatlakescarriageclassic.ca in the Competitor Section  through online competitor and non competitor registration portals. 

On Friday the show offers a Combined Test Day with Dressage and CDE Style Cones followed by an evening Corn Roast meal . Saturday and Sunday features Pleasure Classes with core specialty and four, non driven classes, long lining, harnessing, costume and red-light green-light (a class that introduces youth to being in a carriage). A Saturday evening casual meal is offered and tickets for both of these social events are available through the registration portals.  On  Sunday over  lunch hour, an equine parade features a variety of equines suited in the sport. The Sunday hobby horse class delights young and old alike and has no entry fee. 

Show admission remains no-charge for spectators. Attendees will  enjoy the vendor marketplace, Ringside Café and participation in the silent auction. Competition begins  daily from 8:00 am to approximately 4:00 pm.  All details regarding the show may be found on the show website given above.
